To the obtained mixture was added dropwise a solution of sodium nitrite (210 mg) in water (0.8 mL) at 0 C., and the mixture was stirred at 0 C. for 10 min. The obtained mixture was added dropwise to solution A at 0 C., and the mixture was stirred at 0 C. for 1 hr. To the reaction mixture was added water, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The obtained organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated to give the title compound (663 mg). 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) delta 7.56-7.64 (1H, m), 7.68-7.76 (1H, m), 8.04 (1H, d, J=2.4 Hz).
