To a mixture of 6-bromo-2,4-dichloroquinazoline (278 mg, 1.0 mmol) and (3-chlorophenyl)methanamine (142 mg, 1.0 mmol) in THF (2 ml) was added Et3N (0.209 ml, 1.5 mmol). After removal of solvent, the product was triturated with hexane and dried to give 6-bromo-2-chloro-N-(3-chlorobenzyl)quinazolin-4-amine (360 mg, 0.94 mmol, 94 percent yield) as a white solid. LC-MS (Method 1): tR = 3.69 min, m/z (M+H)+ = 384.
