The organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2S04, filtered and concentrated to give /er/-butyl 7-chloro-3,4-dihydro-l,8-naphthyridine-l(2H)-carboxylate (112; 8.74 g, 91%) as a white solid. MS (ESI) calcd for C13H17CIN2O2 (m/z) 268.74.
