The plug was transferred on top of a column packed with silica gel, 20 times the weight of plug, and was eluted with 0.5% and 1% MeOH in CHCl3. Fractions containing the product (TLC) were pooled, and the solvent was evaporated to afford target compounds 2 or 3.
