The solvent was removed by evaporation and the resulting powder was purified by flash chromatography eluding with methylene chloride/methanol/ammonia (95/5/1 increasing to 80/20/1) to give 4-(4-chloro-2-fluoroanilino)-6-hydroxy-7-methoxyquinoline (1.12 g, 25%). 1H NMR Spectrum: (DMSOd6) 3.95 (s, 3H); 6.30 (m, 1H); 7.25 (s, 1H);7.35 (m, 2H); 7.55 (m, 2H); 8.20 (d, 1H); MS (ESI): 319 [MH]+.
