A suspension of 2,6-dichloro-9-isopropyl-9H-purine (3.0 g, 12 mmol) and 5-chlorobenzene-1,3-diamine (1.8 g, 12 mmol) in n-butanol (21 mL) was stirred at rt as DIPEA (4.1 mL, 24 mmol) was added drop-wise. The resulting suspension was allowed to stir at 100 C and the suspension became a clear solution. After 8 h heating, the solution became a suspension. This suspension was allowed to cool to rt and filtered. The solids were washed with EtOAc (2×10 mL) and dried under vacuum.
