A new series of novel 2-R-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (R = Ph, 4-H2NC6H4, 2-BrC6H4, etc.) was synthesized by reacting 4-nitrobenzhydrazide and benzoic acids RCO2H in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride. The title compounds were characterized by spectral data (IR, NMR, mass). In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of all the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated by denaturation assay, anti-proteinase method, HRBC assay, and diclofenac sodium was used as standard drug. Some of the tested compounds showed good anti-inflammatory activity by denaturation assay. The experimental process involved the reaction of 2-Chloro-4-nitrobenzoic acid(cas: 99-60-5).Category: chlorides-buliding-blocks
