The diversity-oriented organic synthesis of novel coumarin annulated dioxocine I [R = Me, Ph], dioxacindione II scaffolds with Z-selectivity and the sym. pentacyclic coumarin macrocyclic derivatives III [R = H, Me; R1 = H, Cl; n = 1,2,4] is demonstrated from substituted hydroxyl coumarins via ring-closing metathesis in presence of Grubbs’ second-generation catalyst as the facile and efficient route with excellent yields.
