The methyl hexyl ketone-Me2CO-heptane (4:1:5) system ensures effective thin-layer chromatog. separation (on silufol plates) of normal esters of methylphosphonic and chloromethylphosphoacids. There is a linear correlation between the Rf values and the number of Cl atoms in the chloromethyl radical. A procedure was developed for the identification of 32P-labeled chloromethylphosphonic acid esters in CCl4 and CHCl3 mixtures with PrOH produced by hot-atom reactions of 32P.
