Savelyev, Yuri V. published the artcileNovel polyurethane foams with biological activity and based composites, Formula: C38H74Cl2N2O4, the publication is Rigas Tehniskas Universitates Zinatniskie Raksti, Serija 1: Materialzinatne un Lietiska Kimija (2007), 107-114, database is CAplus.
New polyurethane foams with different formulations were synthesized. Created polyurethane foams are characterized by fungicidal activity against mold and yeast-like fungi of the genera: Aspergillis, Chaetomium, Penicillium, Trichoderma, and Candida and bactericidal activity in regards to some pathogenic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus. Polyurethane foams are characterized by the compatibility with organism tissues – fast germination of the tissues through the polyurethane foam samples from 1 up to 3 mo and practically absence of the united-tissued capsule and cell’s reaction. The polyurethane foam was used as supporting matrixes of granular solid adsorbents. The parameters of porous frame (pore volume on benzene Ws and sp. surface area SBET) of the polyurethane foam-activated carbon sorbic composite systems at optimum ratios differ a little from the same indexes of virgin carbon and have practically identical tendency to change. These samples are possessed stability for fungi attack.
