Thus, treating mercaptobenzenesulfonamido derivative I (R = H) with RCl·HCl [R = CH2CH2NR’2, R’ = Me, Bu, Pr; R = (CH2)3NMe2, CH2CH2NR”2, NR”2 = morpholino; R = CH2CMe2NMe2, CHMeCH2NMe2] in Me2CHOH containing Me2CHONa gave 23-72% alkylated I (same R).
