Rehak, Vladimir published the artcileComparison of linear and branched nonpolar chemically bonded stationary phases in high-performance liquid chromatography, Application In Synthesis of 14799-93-0, the publication is Journal of Chromatography (1980), 191(1), 71-9, database is CAplus.

Nonpolar chem. bonded stationary phases with branched or unbranched structure were synthesized, and their sp. surface areas, pore size distributions, and C contents were estimated Based on these data the number of silane mols. bonded to unit surface area of the original silica gel was calculated for each phase. Retentions of selected solute groups were measured in 4 mobile phases of various elution strength, prepared from MeOH-H2O mixtures at various ratios. Dependence of k‘ on the length of the “bristle”, on the size and structure of the solute mol., and the elution strength of the mobile phase were plotted. Results are compared for pairs of phases having different structures but either the same total number of C atoms in the bonded mol. or the same length of the “bristle”. The synthesis of several halosilanes used for preparation of the bonded phases is described.
