The solution was cooled to room temperature and concentrated to give sodium 2-methoxyethanesulfonate (2.33 g, quantitative yield) as a white solid. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz) delta 3.53 (t, 2H), 3.37 (s, 3H), 2.70 (t, 2H).
