A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method is developed for the determination of tranexamic acid. It is based on the formation of colored ion-pair complex between the tranexamic acid and basic dyes (methylene blue, methylene violet, and saframin-O) in the aqueous phase at suitable pH extractable into chloroform showing the characteristic absorption maximum at 650, 550, and 520 nm, resp. The method was applied to pharmaceutical formulations. The method was statistically validated and is found to be precise and accurate.

The paper presents results of research on the preparation of polisher agent used in copper electroplating (electropolisher) and intermediate required for the synthesis of N,N-diethylphenosafranine (I). The multi-step synthesis of the intermediate I comprises the nitrosation of N,N-diethylaniline, reduction of p-nitroso-N,N-diethylaniline, oxidation of the resulting N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine and its condensation with aniline. The polisher agent was obtained by diazotization of N,N-diethylphenosafranine and by reacting the resulting diazo compound with N,N-dimethylaniline, to obtain the product with absorption maximum λmax = 584 (300) nm. The usage tests of the newly developed product have shown very good application properties.

No correlation was observed between tumor weight change and the change in body weight in the treated animals.

Advanced oxidation processes are eco-friendly methods of destroying organic pollutants by using semiconductor and visible light. Photocatalytic degradation of Methylene violet has been investigated in aqueous heterogeneous suspension. The results indicated that photocatalytic reaction was enhanced in alk. medium. The degradation of dye depends on several parameters such as initial concentration of the dye, catalyst loading, pH, electron acceptors and light intensity. COD removal was measured at regular intervals to quantify the mineralization of methylene violet. Sunlight has also been effectively used to degrade Methylene violet.

In this work, we applied a novel dithiocarbamate-grafted star-like polymer for efficient reclamation of cationic dyes. This material is highly selective towards cationic dyes and almost completely rejective to anionic dyes. The adsorption kinetics, isotherms, and thermodn. were systematically investigated to analyze the adsorption behavior of cationic dyes onto the material. As compared with other reported adsorbents, this cheap and facilely-prepared material has exceptional adsorption capacities for industrial cationic dyes, e.g., methylene blue (MB, 2624 mg/g), crystal violet (CV, 2553 mg/g), basic fuchsin (BF, 1729 mg/g), and methylene violet 3RAX (MV, 1239 mg/g), being 5-11 times of that reported in literatures. Based on the effects of pH and ionic strength on adsorption, competitive adsorption of the cationic dyes, and FTIR characterization, mechanisms for the adsorption and desorption of cationic dyes were proposed. The adsorbed dyes can be recovered over 95% just by immersing into diluted HCl solution (0.01 M) for 10 min, thus avoiding organic solvent extraction Over 98% of the adsorption capacity was maintained during consecutive reclamation operation. Due to the high selectivity, high adsorption capacity and the ease of efficient regeneration, this material is potentially applicable for targeted reclamation of cationic dyes from dyeing wastewater.
