In order to evaluate scientifically the differences in the flavor of macadamia nuts dried with different methods, electronic tongue and electronic nose sensory technologies combined with gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) were used to analyze their flavor quality. The results showed that there were significant differences between fresh macadamia nuts and different dried macadamia nuts in umami, salty, sour and bitter tastes, and the cumulative contribution rate of the first two principal components of linear discriminant anal. (LDA) was 96.60%, which could distinguish completely macadamia nuts dried in different ways. The responses of the electronic nose to macadamia nuts processed differently differed significantly. The cumulative contribution rate of the first two principal components in principal component anal. (PCA) reached 98.79%, which could well distinguish the volatile flavor compounds of the macadamia nuts dried by different treatments. The sensors W1S, W3S and W3C played major roles in the principal component anal. As a supplement to the electronic nose, GC-MS identified a total of 227 volatile components, with alkanes and aldehydes being dominant in types and contents. The relative contents of alkanes in the four different treatments of macadamia nuts were 26.29%, 40.76%, 23.64% and 39.46%, resp., and the relative contents of aldehydes were 29.01%, 18.96%, 26.03% and 23.87%, resp. Therefore, the combination of electronic tongue, electronic nose and GC-MS can better distinguish macadamia nuts dried with different methods, thereby providing a theor. reference for postharvest primary processing of macadamia nuts in growing regions.

With less T cell cytotoxicity and effects in activating CD8+ T cells in a T cell proliferation assay and a functionality experiment, MZ58 was selected as the best candidate for animal experiments MZ58 exhibited antitumor effects in a s.c. transplantation tumor model as well as effects in reducing T cell exhaustion. In conclusion, after in vivo and in vitro experiments, we successfully acquired an effective candidate (MZ58) showing antitumor effects with low cytotoxicity toward T cells as well as the ability to activate CD8+ T cells and reduce T cell exhaustion.

By using aqueous EtOH as the solvent and avoiding the generation of a malodorous selenol intermediate, the selenylation reaction with Na2SeSO3 is much more environmentally friendly than conventional methods. Owing to the cheap and abundant starting materials and selenium reagents, the novel synthetic method reduces the production costs of dialkyl diselenides as organoselenium catalysts, thereby advancing practical applications of organoselenium-catalysis technologies.

To discover novel pesticide candidates, a series of sulfoximine derivatives were designed and synthesized via the oxidation coupling reaction of sulfides and N-alkyl nitroguanidines. The compounds were evaluated for their antifungal activity against six phytopathogenic fungi. Most of them exhibited a broad spectrum of fungicidal activity in vitro. Compound 8IV-b displayed good fungicidal activity against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium graminearum, and Phytophthora capsici, with EC50 value of 12.82, 12.50, 17.25, 31.08, and 30.11 mg/L, resp. In addition, compounds 8III-c and 8IV-e had EC50 values of 22.23 and 20.67 mg/L against P. capsic, which were significantly better than that of the com. procymidone (118.15 mg/L). Strikingly, 8IV-d exhibited satisfactory fungicidal activity against B. cinerea, which was comparable to control procymidone in terms of their EC50 values (7.42 vs. 10.83 mg/L), and the bioassays in vivo further confirmed that 8IV-d possessed potent protective effect against B. cinerea at 200 mg/L (72.2 %). These present findings will facilitate the design and development of novel potent fungicides.
