All four mol. salts show N+-H··O- hydrogen bonding. Salt (I) crystallized out with an NH4+ counter-ion which came from decomposition of 50% of the hexamethylenetetraminium cation in solution (II) shows an unusual asym. unit, with both a hexamethylenetetraminium cation and a partially deprotonated 2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoate anion. Single crystal X-ray diffraction anal. revealed that PCNCN belonged to monoclinic crystal system with a centrosym. space group of P21/c. The mol. vibrations of PCNCN were analyzed through Fourier transform IR and NMR spectrum analyses. Then, it was supported on the modified montmorillonite nanoclay to prepare a new catalyst for the reduction reaction. The structure and morphol. of the nanoclay catalyst were characterized by FT-IR, X-ray powder diffraction, SEM, energy-dispersive X-ray anal. and transmission electron microscopy techniques; also, the content of silver was obtained by inductively coupled plasma analyzer. This composition was exploited to study its catalytic activity in the reduction in aromatic nitro compounds; it displayed the high catalytic activity. Factors such as catalyst amount, solvent, temperature and reaction time were all systematically investigated to elucidate their effects on the yield of catalytic reduction in nitroarenes. This catalytic system exhibited high activity toward aromatic nitro compounds under mild conditions. The catalyst was reused five times without any significant loss in its catalytic activity. We report on the studies performed on Morpholinium 2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoate (M2C4N), a second order nonlinear optical (NLO) material, which has been proved to crystallize with chiral structure as compared to its other two variants. The synthesized powder was studied for its composition, crystalline phase and NLO efficiency and phase matchability. The solubility and the metastable zone width (MSZW) of the title compound were measured for the growth of bulk crystals of M2C4N. A smoky pattern observed in the middle region of the crystals that could prevent it from optical applications was greatly reduced, through suitable modifications in the growth process. The optical properties such as luminescence and laser damage threshold resistance were studied for the bulk crystals whereas the mol. vibrations of M2C4N were studied through Fourier transform IR (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectral anal. using the polycrystalline powders derived from the single crystals. In addition, quantum chem. studies on M2C4N mol. were performed by using d. functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-311++G (d, p) basis set. These studies showed that the M2C4N is a phase matchable NLO crystal and could be used for device fabrication. A novel series of 2-(3-methyl-1,6-diphenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-4-yl)-5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles I [R = furan-2-yl, pyridin-4-yl, 4-tolyl, etc.] were synthesized from corresponding hydrazones and evaluated their antiplatelet aggregation effect induced by arachidonic acid and collagen. Spectral data and elemental evaluation were used to confirm the structure of the compounds while mol. docking against cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 (COX1 & COX2) and quant. structure-activity relationship (QSAR) were performed in describing their antiplatelet potential. All synthesized compounds I exhibited more than 50% platelet aggregation inhibition against both arachidonic acid and collagen. Antiplatelet activities results showed that I [R = 4-nitrophenyl, furan-2-yl] compounds was highest % inhibition against arachidonic acid. High Egap and ionization potential values showed that the compound I [R = 4-bromophenyl, 4-tolyl, furan-2-yl] were supposed to be more active and good electron donor while I [R = 4-nitrophenyl, 4-fluorophenyl, 4-bromophenyl, 4-tolyl, pyridin-4-yl, 2-chloro-4-nitrophenyl] might be more active due to more electrophilic sites. Interaction with more than one residues in the binding pocket of COX-1 in comparison with aspirin and ligand efficacy (LE) consequences showed that compounds were excellent action potential for COX-1. Computational evaluations were in good agreement with antiplatelet activities of the compounds All compounds might be promising antiplatelet agents especially I [R = 4-nitrophenyl, furan-2-yl] and helpful in the synthesis of new drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
